All Hallows Eve
Halloween is here, Craig Ferguson is back from some time off in the old country and he’s ready for a big Halloween special, featuring Zooey Deschanel (fresh from her performance of the national anthem at the World Series), author Neil Gaiman and music by Amanda Palmer (with special guests Moby and Stephin Merritt).  The media critic from the Star Tribune newspaper things Neil and Zooey should collaborate on a comic.  So set those DVRs.   It should be a fun night!

Grant Mentions Geoff
A year ago this week the Albany, NY Times-Union newspaper had an article about the Mythbusters Grant Imahara, in which he mentions Geoff Peterson.

Cumbernauld House
It’s been a little more than a year since a private developer bought the historic Cumbernauld House in Craig’s home town in Scotland.  A pair of groups called the Cumbernauld House Trust and the Friends of Cumbernauld House Park are disappointed that the developer is planning to turn what had been a public building into private apartments and has cut off public access to the grounds.  However, the group has set up signs documenting the history of the building.

Craig on eBay
On a whim, we took a look at eBay and were surprised to see there are 231 “Craig Ferguson” items for sale.  Most are what you would expect:  Books, DVD’s and photos.  But there are a few autographed items as well.  We’re not sure who would sell something autographed by Craig but they are available.

Duran Duran Draws
Wedsites theNJundergroud.com and ConsequenceOfSound.net reported on Duran Duran‘s appearance on the Late Late Show.

Michael Caine Spaced
Sometimes in the past, the Late Late Show would run outtakes during the credits.  One night, they featured Craig stumbling through a Michael Caine in Space sketch and teasing the audience.

Saturday, October 29th is National Cat Day, the anniversary of the stock market crash of 1929 and the anniversary of the internet.  Sunday, October 30th is Checklists Day, Devil’s Night and the birthday of etiquette maven Emily Post.  And of course, Monday, October 31st is All Hallow’s Eve, so mind your manners and have a fun Halloween!

All-New Shows
It’s nearly November, which means it’s ratings time for local televisions stations across the country from now until the night before Thanksgiving.  Viewership is measured so that stations and networks can set advertising rates for the months ahead.  Your local newscast will be filled with in-depth investigations and glossy feature stories and the networks are hauling out their big entertainment offerings for the fall.  Millions more viewers are expected to tune in to see the exciting conclusion to the World Series, critical episodes of your favorite dramas and reality shows, plus great guests on the talk shows.  For the Late Late Show, some big names are starting to pop up on the list.  We’ve just updated our Guests page with confirmed listings through November 11th plus most of the guests who will appear before the Thanksgiving break.

Scottish TV Host Admires Craig
The Scottish Sun newspaper talks with TV host Darren McMullen, who has nice things to say about Craig.

Betty White, Veterinarian?

The veterinary college at Washington State University has named Betty White an honorary alumna and even gave her a white lab coat to wear.  Thanks to the RSA’s @HMSFox for the link.

Craig’s Week in Scotland
Our fearless leader was able to enjoy a short break from taping and touring this week, back in his native Scotland.  One time after returning to Los Angeles after a similar trip, Craig wondered if the mushroom omelet he had for breakfast had an unusual effect.

The nomination round for the People’s Choice Awards has wrapped up.  In every category, including Best Late Night Host, the votes cast over the past month will be counted and the top five finalists will be announced in early November.  If Craig is one of the five finalists, you will be able to cast your vote between November 8th and December 6th and the winner will be announced live on the CBS telecast, January 11th 2012.  We’ll keep you posted.  Meanwhile, frequent Late Late Show guest Kaley Cuoco has been tapped as the new host of the awards show.  As HitFix.com reports, she replaces longtime host Queen Latifah who had the gig since 2006.  And who hosted in 2005?  Why, none other than Craig Ferguson.  Kaley tweeted:

Thanks for all the #PeoplesChoice love! I’m very excited and will do my best to make you giggle. And not change the channel.

The RSA’s artistic @HoboRobot has come up with a fun version of Craig’s character of Owl from Winnie The Pooh.

Facades in Thackerville
The WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma has played host to Craig’s stand up comedy show and despite its location away from big cities along the Oklahoma/Texas border, attracts other big name acts as well.  A blogger for the Oklahoman newspaper talks about the casino’s efforts to draw big names and included Craig’s observations about the facility’s “world” themed appearance.

Tonight’s Guests
The Late Late show on Thursday and Friday will have all new shows (albeit taped earlier) even though Craig is on a break this week.  Thursday, Craig talks with actor Kunal Nayyar, who tweeted about his busy day:

Tonight watch me with the awesome Marc Steines on ET!Then a scary good episode of @BigBang_CBS!Finally-a footalicous time with @CraigyFerg!

And CBS added:

2Nite #BigBangTheory’s @kunalnayyar visits @CraigyFerg, plus Anthony Head stops by on #LateLateShow, 12:37am ET/PT

And on Friday, Craig’s guests are actress Olivia Munn, comedienne Judy Gold and 80’s band Duran Duran.  The RSA’s @T4booboo was in the audience the day the segment with Olivia Munn was taped and sent us this:
[stextbox id=”custom”]Be sure to remind everyone to pay careful attention to Craig’s greeting and welcome back chat when Olivia Munn “drops in” Oct 28th. The segment was filmed impromptu immediately after her segment from Sep 14th. I’d say smitten would be a good word for how Craig was behaving! As soon as they “ended” the segment, Michael approached the bench and they had a short secret chat. After the meeting Craig announced that they were going to film another segment for a later date since he liked her so much (which was obvious). So naturally their clothes (and her bright blue shoes) were the same, and how they kept from busting up laughing during the “Oh, it’s so good to see you again, it’s been a while …” interchange, I’m not sure! Although we had to wait an extra hour in the inside hallway before being seated, getting the Moulin Rouge Dancers, Danny DeVito, and two (not one, but TWO) Olivia Munn segments made it all worthwhile.[/stextbox]
