Note To Our Email Subscribers

Our email subscribers have not received their daily emails for the past couple of days. The reason for this is a big change happening across the internet on how email providers authenticate email. Just because someone sends you an email with an email address on the “from” line, doesn’t mean it actually came from there. To help combat that problem and fight spam, many providers now require an authentication process. Essentially, if your email server gets an email it thinks is from us, it checks back with our server to make sure it really did come from us, using a complex encryption key and a separate file with authentication rules. If the rules and the key match, the email arrives safely in your inbox. If they don’t match, it gets returned to us as an error. A couple of major providers made a change earlier this week that suddenly stopped all of our emails, so we’ve been working to fix it. We have now updated our servers to use the encryption keys and authentication rules that comply with the latest guidance from the people who run the internet (kinda like Craig’s “people in charge of show business”), which we hope will allow the emails to flow freely again. If it doesn’t work in the next day or two, we’ll consult our vendors to see if there is anything else we can do. The good news for you is that you don’t need to change anything on your end. If we’ve done everything correctly, emails should be back up and running. We appreciate your patience as we figure out how it works.
