Craig Records New Special
Craig Ferguson wrapped up his long-running New Deal Tour in Montreal over the weekend, with two shows at the Just For Laughs comedy festival. The shows were recorded, and the best bits of both will be edited together to become his fifth standup comedy special. The show will be released first on Netflix and eventually on DVD. We’ll keep you posted on release dates as soon as we hear about them. Craig was also honored by the festival with its Alumni Tribute Award. His first appearance on stage in North America was at Just For Laughs 30 years ago. The website Shutter16 reviewed the show, as did the UK comedy website Chortle.

CF To Appear In Scottish Sitcom
Craig will make an appearance in a sitcom on Scottish television called Still Game. The Scottish press covered the news extensively, but it’s particularly hilarious to read the coverage in the Cumbernauld News, from the Glasgow suburb where he grew up. Every story (half seriously and perhaps half mockingly) talks about him being ‘one of the highest-paid hosts in America’ and that he’s a cosmopolitan jet-setter. Here’s their take on his decision to appear on the sitcom, and a story a day later saying he’ll be appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe in August. More coverage of Craig’s sitcom appearance came from the BBC, the UK comedy website Chortle, The Scotsman, The Times, STV, The Daily Record, and the Scottish Sun. We have not heard about an air date for the show yet, but we’ll pass it along when we get word.

Fringe Ahead
More outlets are looking ahead to Craig’s two-week run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he’ll be hosting his SiriusXM radio show in front of a live audience, including The List and WhereInEdinburgh.com.
