KatzenbergSpeaking of Scottish accents, DreamWorks film producer Jeffrey Katzenberg recently told the Herald Scotland newspaper that to his ear, Scottish accents work well in film because of its unique melody.

TV critic Ken Tucker has a new gig, writing for Yahoo.com, Variety reports. One of the founders of Entertainment Weekly, Tucker has been supportive of Craig throughout his run on The Late Late Show.

Guest Shuffle
This week’s guests have been shifted around again. Drew Carey now appears on Thursday with Max Greenfield. Steve Carell moves to Friday, along with Kristen Bell, who had been scheduled earlier in the week.

Craig at the Paley Center LA
Craig Paley slCraig Ferguson will make a return appearance at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. He’ll be there for an hour of conversation with host Jim Rash on December 15th. Tickets are on sale Thursday for Paley Center members, and on Friday for the general public. It’s not a big room and tickets are expected to sell quickly. The RSA’s Laura has written a great post about how Craig has found a way to hold a party on television every night, and while she’ll miss seeing him in late-night, she knows he’ll bring the party with him wherever he goes.

Corden’s New Home
Corden as FatherPart of James Corden‘s decision to take on the role of host of The Late Late Show was influenced by becoming a father for a second time this fall. He tells ContactMusic.com that he will appreciate being able to go home every night, rather than being stuck on film locations for weeks at a time.

Craig Ferguson‘s Hot and Grumpy Tour is coming to New York City. Craig will appear at Town Hall on West 43rd Street on Thursday, Friday and Saturday March 5th, 6th and 7th. CBS Television City slLoyal Australian skelly @timlogan62 recently ventured to the U.S. to see Craig at a taping of The Late Late Show. In the end (spoiler alert), he did not succeed in getting a ticket, but apart from a few “tutsi fruitsies,” he took it rather well, and has invited Craig to tour Australia. Thank you for sharing your story, Tim, and we hope you get a chance to see Craig in person down the road. In the meantime, Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! (Oi, Oi, Oi!)

Recently, David Letterman invited future Late Late Show host James Corden to be a guest on The Late Show. A reviewer for MediaPost.com enjoyed watching the visit and says nice things about both host and guest.

He Filled the Bill
Bill CarterLongtime New York Times TV reporter Bill Carter has decided to take a buyout offer to leave the paper, one of many journalists affected by staff reductions. He told the Huffington Post that he’s not retiring from the business and will be looking for new opportunities. Carter has been the leading journalist reporting on late-night television for his 25 years at the times and at the Baltimore Sun before that. His books about the hosts of The Tonight Show are considered the best accounts of the struggles between David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and NBC. He has also written several nice things about Craig over the years. We wish him the best as he moves to his next chapter.

On Celebrity Name Game, John Belushi‘s name is hard to say, and Long John Silver may be a pirate. Or a sandwich maker.

People’s Choice Push
Peoples Choice slThere is only a short time left to cast your vote(s) for the “Favorite Late Night Talk Show Host” category in the People’s Choice Awards. Craig Ferguson is a finalist, and you can vote as many times as you like between now and December 4th. After a great ten-year run as a late-night host, it would be a fitting tribute to see Craig win. Vote like crazy!

When actress Kat Dennings appeared on The Late Late Show last week, she tweeted a backstage photograph that the RSA’s @thirty3anda3rd thought had the look of old Hollywood glamor about it. We couldn’t agree more.

Interim LLS Hosts
Drew Interim Host slCraig Ferguson‘s final Late Late Show is scheduled for Friday, December 19th, and James Corden will begin his time has host starting Monday, March 9th. To fill the gap, CBS will run a handful of Craig-hosted re-runs for the rest of December. Then, from January until early March, a string of guest hosts will be in the chair. Drew Carey, who hosted the show on April Fool’s Day this year, will host January 5-9, as well as the final week before Corden’s debut, March 2-6. From January 12-16, the show will be hosted by the hosts of the CBS daytime show The Talk, from their own studio. Among the other hosts to be scheduled are Judd Apatow, Will Arnett, Wayne Brady, Jim Gaffigan, Billy Gardell, Sean Hayes, Thomas Lennon, John Mayer and Kunal Nayyar. Variety and Entertainment Weekly were among the first to report on the plan, released by CBS late last week.

The Hard Rock Casino and The Wellmont Theater both posted photos of Craig and Josh Robert Thompson from the appearances on stage in November. We particularly like the Wellmont’s photo of Josh doing his Robert DeNiro impression. Thanks to several skellies for letting us know about the photos.

Craig on Live
Last Friday, Craig appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael. We’re told that many on the West Coast were unable to see the interview because of holiday football games, so here it is. Craig appears about 18 minutes into the show. Enjoy!
