Calling All Shark Fans
The Discovery Channel’s annual Shark Week kicks off August 4th. As we reported last week, a new addition this year will be a late night talk show with a shark theme, where each night’s shark-related shows will be discussed. It’s called Shark After Dark, be hosted by comedian Josh Wolf and executive produced by shark fan Craig Ferguson.

Bagpuss Celebrated
On the show last week, Craig mentioned a character from a show in the UK called Bagpuss. The beloved show ran for only 13 episodes but is considered one of the gems of British children’s television. The RSA’s @hoborobot came up with a poster about the show’s striped star.

I’m Here To Help
Craig Ferguson‘s newest stand up comedy special I’m Here To Help was released on DVD in Region 1 this week. It has been on Netflix for a few months and is also now available on iTunes, as Craig himself tweeted:

Hader’s Gonna Hate
The website Uproxx.com, which has rapidly become a big fan of Craig and the Late Late Show, posted another appreciation last week, regarding Craig’s visit with actor Bill Hader about his most recent film, The To Do List, working with his wife as the film’s director and his appreciation for ComicCon.

Audiobook Recorded
This week, the RSA’s ever-vigilant @bgrhubarb spotted some tweets and a Facebook post from audio production company Deyan Audio Services, which indicated they have completed recording of an audiobook version of Craig Ferguson‘s novel Between The Bridge And The River. They tweeted:

The website SheWired.com took note of Craig’s conversation this week with actress Teri Polo, including her comments about how women argue, and her daring wardrobe choice.

Doctor’s Future

Actor Matt Smith appeared on the Late Late Show this week, and both the Huffington Post and the UK’s Monsters and Critics enjoyed his conversation with Craig about leaving Doctor Who at the end of the year.

Two publications had nice things to say about Craig Ferguson this week, including BBC America in its wrap-up of ComicCon events surrounding the Doctor Who panel, and USA Today, which chuckled at Craig’s observations about the royal baby.

This Week in TV History
This week in 1996, Comedy Central launched The Daily Show, hosted by Craig Kilborn. He left to become host of the Late Late Show in 1998 and was replaced by Jon Stewart. And in 2004, Kilborn left the LLS and was replaced by Craig Ferguson in 2005.
