{"id":14677,"date":"2012-01-26T03:15:18","date_gmt":"2012-01-26T03:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rsanews.com\/?p=14677"},"modified":"2012-01-27T03:15:37","modified_gmt":"2012-01-27T03:15:37","slug":"craig-ferguson-des-moines-burns-cousteau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rsanews.com\/new\/craig-ferguson-des-moines-burns-cousteau\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"We Are From I-Oh-Way<\/strong><\/span>\"\"<\/a>\r\nAfter a fun night in Omaha on Wednesday evening, Craig Ferguson<\/strong> moves his Live Comedy Tour<\/a> a few miles east along Interstate 80 on Thursday, to perform at the Hoyt Sherman Theater in Des Moines, Iowa.\u00c2\u00a0 On Tuesday night, St. Louis enjoyed Craig’s show, as reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 And on Wednesday, the Omaha World-Herald<\/a> had a short Q & A with Craig.\r\n\r\nBurns Night<\/strong><\/span>\r\n\"\"<\/a>Craig was kind enough to remind us that January 25th is the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 On the way to Omaha, he thought of a way to have fun with his opening act and road manager:\r\n

Happy birthday Rab. \/\/ Burns’ Day. St Louis – Omaha. 7hr bus ride I’ll fill by reciting old Scots poems to @<\/s>tedalexandro<\/strong><\/a> & @<\/s>philcottone<\/strong><\/a> . They seem excited.\u00c2\u00a0 \/\/\u00c2\u00a0 The Burns’ poem I shall recite today is entitled “Nine Inch Will Please A Lady”. #<\/s>realpoem<\/strong><\/a>. #<\/s>notajoke<\/strong><\/a> #<\/s>true<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\nThe RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir<\/strong> found the poem in question and posted a link<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 And on the bus Wednesday, comedian Ted Alexandro<\/strong> tweeted about Craig’s recitations:\r\n

The Inferno is on to Omaha. 7 hr drive ahead. @<\/s>craigyferg<\/strong><\/a> is going on about “O my Love’s like a red, red rose That’s newly sprung in June”<\/p>\r\nA Red Red Rose<\/a> is one of Burns’ most famous poems.\u00c2\u00a0 Just before Wednesday night’s show, Craig retweeted @badastronomer<\/strong> and added some commentary:

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153@<\/s>BadAstronomer<\/strong><\/a>: Somehow, tweeting “PUEBLO I AM IN YOU” sounds dirty.\u00e2\u20ac\u009dNot as dirty as “Omaha, I’ll be in your Orpheum tonight!”. #<\/s>whichIwill<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\nPuppets Rock<\/strong><\/span>\"\"<\/a>\r\nAn article in the Seattle Times<\/a> says puppets and marionettes seem to be on the rise in America and credits Craig among the reasons why.\r\n\r\nGarbage Rocks, Too<\/strong><\/span>\r\n\"\"<\/a>The RSA’s @MissGraoully<\/strong> spotted an article on nme.com<\/a>, which says the band Garbage<\/strong> will soon release it’s first album in five years.
