{"id":17878,"date":"2012-06-27T02:15:47","date_gmt":"2012-06-27T02:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rsanews.com\/?p=17878"},"modified":"2012-06-29T01:38:39","modified_gmt":"2012-06-29T01:38:39","slug":"craig-ferguson-studio-andrews-scotland-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rsanews.com\/new\/craig-ferguson-studio-andrews-scotland-3\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"Gearing Up to Switch Studios<\/strong><\/span>\"\"<\/a>\r\nEver since getting a green light in the spring under Craig Ferguson<\/strong>‘s new two-year contract, work has been under way at CBS Television City to move the Late Late Show across the hall from the friendly confines of Studio 58, to Studio 56 with a larger stage, more room for musical guests to perform and a bigger audience. Both studios had originally been designed as rehearsal halls for the larger studios on the main level of the building. Studio 58 in particular was the smaller of the two rooms, a permanent home for the first iteration of the Late Late Show. There, host Tom Snyder<\/strong> interviewed guests one-on-one with no audience. Shoe-horning in an audience of about 100 people started when Craig Kilborn<\/strong> began hosting the show in 1999.\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>Crews will be installing new lighting and building a new set, which will some of the most visible changes the audience will notice. However, much of the work being done is the behind-the-scenes engineering most people never see. Some of the wiring and infrastructure work is being done now. The rest will happen when the show takes its usual late-summer break in August, when crews will be able to move things like the cameras, microphones, audio and video controls and more from the old studio to the new. The new studio is set to debut in September, although no precise date has been announced. It may be as early as late August, depending on when everything is ready.
